With less than a week to go until the London Marathon we are seeing lots of runners complaining of niggles.
Aches and pains that suddenly appear in the last couple of weeks prior to a race are quite normal. As the body winds down from the peak of its efforts and training load it has to adapt to the new feeling of doing much less. The mind can start to play tricks and convince us that there is something not quite right.
It can also be common to feel sluggish and tired as the body transitions between activity levels.
Come race day these niggles disappear and are forgotten !
